Multiple Templates in WP

How to Create Multiple Templates in WordPress for different pages?
Today after talking with a WP expert, I could find out it’s as easy as below:

Make a save as from your page.php and save it with another name and put this code at the beginning before your header code. When you upload it in the site at the same directory, in your dashboard while editing your page at the right side you will see the template option to choose multiple templates.
